I am a Brazilian astronomer with a background in Physics from UFRGS (Brazil) and a Ph.D. in Astrophysics from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität and International Max Planck Research School (Germany). Currently, I am a senior researcher at the Museum of Astronomy and Related Sciences (MAST) and a professor in the Master's Program in Science, Technology, and Health Communication at Fundação Oswaldo Cruz (Fiocruz), both located in Rio de Janeiro. My research in Astrophysics focuses on extragalactic astrophysics, particularly weak gravitational lensing and cosmology. I also explore how astronomy’s scientific, cultural, historical, and social dimensions can be used to engage diverse audiences in informal science education.

Beyond research, I am deeply involved in science communication and museum education. I co-founded GalileoMobile, an initiative that brings astronomy to communities worldwide. At MAST, I coordinate several educational projects and actions, including the "Girls in the Museum Project." I was recognized by the Brazilian Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation’s "Women in Science" program and published in Nature Astronomy on the role of astronomy in sustainable development.
